All 5 players from AaFK Akademiet also started the game! After a tough start and an early equalizer, the team showed both character and quality as they turned the game into a strong 2-1 win at Lyse Arena. The home team opened best and took control of the game from the start with a lot of ball possession. After a quarter, Viking got a corner, which ended with a scoring and a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, the hosts were close to doubling, but a strong clearance from AaFK's last chance kept the distance at one goal. Throughout the first half, AaFK gradually worked their way into the game, but struggled to create the big chances. The teams went into the break with the home team in the lead. After the break, Viking continued to press early, but again, AaFK's goalkeeper was in the way of scoring. From then on, AaFK took more and more initiative in the game. The team showed more aggression in their press and were more dangerous going forward. The equalizer came after 65 minutes. On a corner, Ulrik Syversen jumped high and headed in 1-1, to great joy from the away team. The goal gave new energy, and AaFK continued to press. Ten minutes later, AaFK completed the comeback. Mathias Christensen made a stunning performance as he beat several Viking players before scoring from a sharp angle. A goal that would prove to be match-winning. AaFK held on in the final minutes and could finally celebrate a strong away win and a spot in the semifinals. There, they will face the winner of one of the other quarterfinals, with the date set for April 22. An impressive team effort and a win that gives new cup optimism in Ålesund.
