Aalesund won their first Eliteserien match after comeback with a 2-2 draw against Rosenborg at Lerkendal. Mathias Christensen scored the decisive goal five minutes after halftime. Aalesund had a good start on the game and took the lead after just three minutes with a great pass from Mads Bomholt. After a tight first half, Kristian Lonebu equalized 1–1 and silenced the home crowd. The goal came as a result of quick and precise AaFK play. After the break, the home team looked very passive, and the visitors from Sunnmøre took advantage of it. Christensen saw a shot from 20 meters go in. Shortly after, VAR intervened to check if the yellow card given to Christensen was correct. The replays showed that he had fouled substitute Adrian Pereira, but the decision stood. The game was Rekdal's first at Lerkendal since he was sacked as Rosenborg coach nearly three years ago. It was also an opportunity to take AaFK's first win of the season after comeback in Eliteserien. The result took the team up to six points from eight games, while RBK has two points more from nine games. Rosenborg's next game is away to KFUM Oslo on May 25, while AaFK hosts Brann on the following Wednesday.
